Kaduna Speaker May be Impeach, House divided over Majority Leader impeachment

Kaduna State House of Assembly, has been left in confusion over the purported impeachment of the Majority Leader Hon. Haruna Inuwa Dogo (Mabo).
The Majority Leader was on Wednesday impeached by  members of the state assembly following the passage of a vote of no confidence on him by the majority members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

But some of the other lawmakers, however, made a U-turn and want to upturned the impeachment.
They stated that the allegations against the Majority Leader Hon. Haruna Mabo were unsubstantiated and pledged their loyalty to him.
The embattled Majority Leader described his purported impeachment as “a bundle of illegality.”

Kaduna Legislators prepare to impeach Speaker.
The House will move to impeach Speaker Yusuf Zailani as soon as next week, they will  strip him of his powers over alleged financial misappropriation, gross misconduct and several other allegations

The reason why some members stated for their move to impeachthe speaker is over alleged financial misappropriation, gross misconduct and several other allegations.

"We will impeach the speaker because of financial impropriety, high handedness, and gross misconduct".

"He were found to have committed impeachable offence, this are the reason to relieve him of his post".
"We will proceed to the impeachment".

"We will act with urgency, because this speaker represents an imminent threat,” a reliable source revealed.

WWN learnt that the speaker will soon invited or rrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for alleged abuse of office and misappropriation of funds meant for constituency projects.

Following a petition by some group, alleging that funds meant for public use were diverted and misappropriated to the tune of  over N500 million.

Also alleged that several suspicious payments by the speaker were traced to some beneficiaries.

The funds, according to the petitioners were allegedly transferred including  a company in which the speaker is the sole signatory.  An investigation carried out by the petitioners also claimed that the funds were on several occasions, personally withdrawn in cash by the Speaker.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) who are the majority in the kaduna state house of Assembly are now preparing to impeach Hon. Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani if he does not resign, a rapid deterioration of their relationship following devastating allegation that he had.

The outcome become clear after an emergency secret meeting of some Kaduna legislators, has been looking into impeachment of the speaker.

Allegations against Hon. Zailani, it is abundantly clear that he has lost the confidence of the Assembly APC majority and that he can no longer remain in office,” a legislature said “Once we receive all relevant documents and evidence, we will move expeditiously and look to conclude our impeachment investigation as quickly as possible.”

“A lot of people are ready,” said some Assembly members. “The process is going to wind down and then, we believe, you’ll see the Assembly voting on articles of impeachment.”

Around half of the members called on Zailani to resign, though only a handful supported the disruptive process of immediately holding an impeachment. That changed in a dramatic fashion on the impeachment process, with dozens of members saying they were ready to immediately take whatever votes were needed to end the Yusuf Zailani's tenure.

“It’s important to keep focused on the fact that there’s a pattern of behavior laid out in the report, which means it can happen every day,” said Assemblymember, who had called for Zailani's resignation in the spring and is now in favor of impeachment. “It’s dangerous to have that behavior continue in the legislature, so the
Assembly needs to act expeditiously.”
