Group Petition EFCC, As Provost College of health science and technology Taafe Fingered In Multi Million Naira Scandal
"Dr. Yusuf Idris In Multi-Million Naira Financial Fraud".
"Fraud and financial improprieties have been going on as a tradition of the Provost and his cronies".
Dr. Yusuf Idris, the Provost College of health science and technology Taafe, is currently enmeshed in financial fraud running into millions of naira.
There are several cases of reported corruption and frauds on officials reliable source revealed.
A Group Petition (EFCC) over alleged corruption, impunity and financial impropriety of
Dr. Yusuf Idris.
In a petition to the EFCC, the group accused the Provost of monumental graft and a “high level of incompetence, callousness, and total disregard for all democratic principles.”
Some of the allegations include misappropriation of public funds and contravention of the Public Finance Management Law of Nigeria and aiding and abetting through criminal conspiracy by awarding contracts to his allies and cronies through which the institution funds were siphoned.
The group, Anti-Corruption Network Initiative accused Dr. Yusuf Idris of defrauding the institution with illegal award of contracts to family members and close allies.
The group added that ‘DR. YUSUF IDRIS' styled administration’ has drained the finances of the institution without any significant project to match the Millions of naira allocated to it annually, and set it on an imminent path of failure.
Also an investigation by Ripples Nigeria has revealed that the management of the College awarded large sums of monies in questionable contracts to companies, and entities that were in some cases untraceable.
Also, some of the projects were not done is currently enmeshed in financial fraud and job racketeering running into millions of naira
“Even the staff of the college are not spared when it comes to the torturing and denial of their entitlement".
“We the staff have been so frustrated that we now resort to use of personal resources for logistics during trainings and other official engagements.
“This man hurriedly conducted recruitment exercise in the past to cover up irregularities in in the college records, staff salaries and other claims as reflected in the institution financial records remain contradicted,” the source said.
“Whenever some of us raised this issue, we were always threatened with termination of employment as he always handled the college as a personal family business.
“He is always bragging that, with his godfather's, highly placed within the Mohammed Matawalle government, he is immune from any form of probe and prosecution.
Another source who is close to the college, the Provost alleged he boasted of not being perturbed because, he has successfully sorted his godfather's and all those that are relevant that may have the capacity to probe him on the numerous petitions written against him by numerous civil society organisations.
“Most staff are not happy over his activities and are ready to support with more information about him not minding if they lose their jobs in the process.”
A lecturer who spoke on condition of anonymity, for fear of victimisation by the Provost, said the institution was being run like a private estate.
"The institution has not had it so bad like this since its establishment. Since the appointment of DR. YUSUF IDRIS' as Provost, corruption, fraudulent practices, intimidation, nepotism, hatred, oppression, highhandedness, victimisation, and indiscriminate queries have become a daily affair in the institution.
Meanwhile, the group, Anti-Corruption Network Initiative, has called for the sacking of Dr. Yusuf Idris.
Anti-corruption agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) were called to acertain Dr. Yusuf Idris and his cronies.
"We want the anti-graft agencies to make a thorough investigation in other to bring the guilty parties to justice" the group added.

They stated that EFCC should ascertain the Provost how he siphoned the institution Money which he used and accumulated properties in choice place.
Based on the petition, the provost has continued to corruptly enrich himself and his cronies.
The group call on the anti-graft agency to commence investigations into the college of health science and technology Tsafe.
"EFCC should investigate how Dr. Yusuf Idris get his wealth and assets, how much is he earnings as a public servants that he purportedly used to buy expensive property's in choice places".
