Compt. Jalo Bags Foreign Press Association Award.




The Nigeria customs area controller in charge of Federal operation unit zone 'B' kaduna, Compt. Musa Ibrahim Jalo, received  Foreign Press Association (FPA) award.

In a special programme held in NCS Federal Operation unit zone 'B' kaduna, on Thursday.


The President of the Foreign Press Association (FPA), Daniel Faitaua extolled the virtues of controller of customs Musa Ibrahim Jalo for his commitment of the Customs in the zone.

He noted that apart from improving the image of customs personnel in his command, the custom boss has instilled discipline in the workforce.

The President assured that the foreign press would continue to identify with Nigeria customs service and other organizations towards improved economy of the nation.

He explained that the award bestowed on comptroller Musa Ibrahim Jalo was in recognition of his tireless and patriotic efforts towards national development.

"The recognition is for Jalo's excellent performance in blocking of revenue leakages and improved revenue generation to the Federal Government coffers, and for his outstanding performance and dedication to anti-smuggling activities".
The President noted that Jalo has been actively involved in various roles within the northern Area of the Nigeria Customs Service and has served in different capacity.

Responding, after receiving the award, The Area controller Nigeria customs service Federal operation, zone 'B' kaduna, Compt. Musa Jalo, said that the command has improved efforts towards revenue generation and tackling of smuggling activities.

According to him the command was doing a lot towards checking illegal import of contraband goods.

"The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘B’ has made a total of 130 siezures of various contrabands worth total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of Three Hundred and Five Million, Seven Hundred and Ten Thousand, Five Hundred and Forty-Four Naira and Fifty-Five Kobo* (#305,710,544.55k) only.

"And in our efforts with my team to weaken the activities of smugglers in the Zone, the Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘B’ Kaduna has from 1 January 2023 to date, made a lot of Seizures of different items at various locations in the Zone, he added.
