Kano 2024 Local Govt Polls: Court gives KANSIEC order to Conduct Elections

A Kano state high court has countered the judgement of the federal high court which barred Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, KANSIEC, from conducting Local Government Area elections slated for tomorrow (Saturday).

The Judge Justice Simon Amobeda on Thursday in his ruling banned KANSIEC from conducting the election, saying that “the executive members of the commission are card carrying members of the NNPP”.

But in his judgement on Friday, Justice Sanusi Ma’aji of the state high court issued a contrary order, directing KANSIEC to go ahead with the election slated for Saturday.
